In eastern Carlsbad, Rancho Carrillo is a new large subdivision which also borders San Marcos. The climate here in Rancho Carrillo is just perfect and if you go a few miles inland, you will experience the "out of the fog and yet not too hot" kind of whether. The community here in Rancho Carrillo boasts a pool, recreation center, an historic ranch park, and a huge network of walking trails. Not only that, it's the largest earth moving project in Carlsbad history!

The homes in the area of Rancho Carrillo are the most reasonable in Carlsbad, perhaps because the area is a few miles from the ocean and the freeway or perhaps because the San Marcos school district is not as highly rated as Carlsbad's.
