La Costa is home to a world famous resort and spa, and the location of national tennis and golf championships. When La Costa was built in 1980, many townhomes and luxury homes were built along the golf course. Real Estate in La Costa affords many good views, especially in the hills surrounding the resort.

Here's one of my favorite neighborhoods, known as Alga Hills. These homes were built in the early 1990s, a rarity in Carlsbad since the housing market was in a recession then, and very few homes were built. These homes are around 2000-2400 square feet, and are priced in the high $600,000s to mid $700,000s.

La Costa has the highest concentration of condos and townhomes in Carlsbad. These are very popular with young couples who want to live in an upscale area for a reasonable cost. Most of these are in the $400,000s.

At the other end of the spectrum, La Costa boasts many spectacular homes well over $1.2 Million, with terrific views of the the golf course, the lagoon, and the ocean
