In the northeast corner of Carlsbad
you will get the Calaveras Hills located. This area of Calaveras has a great
proximity to Plaza Camino Real which is a famous mall and all the big box
stores along Route 78 ("the 78").
Calaveras area is every parents
delight as this area boasts some excellent schools, with a new middle school
being currently built in the area. The prices of homes in Calaveras are among
the lowest in the Carlsbad that is because of the fact that it is situated in
the north east corner which adds a few minutes to a San Diego commute. Here one
of the highlight is the hilltop location which means soothing ocean breezes
every afternoon.
Calaveras is a perfect place where
some activity or the other is going on always. Many of the Carlsbad's "TGIF"
Friday Jazz concerts in summer are being hosted in a large regional park of
Calaveras. The Calaveras Lake is open for perfect hiking and picnics. But if
you want the real treat then try the trail to overlook some evening and enjoy a
panoramic ocean and sunset view.
"The Summit" is the homes in
Calaveras, a typical late 1980s neighborhood. These homes are available in the
size from 1800-2300 square feet. The prices currently for these homes are in
the $600,000s and a bit higher for the larger ones.
Are you sick of stucco and tile? Don't
worry! Calaveras Hills has a Tudor-Style neighborhood which is known as
"Tamarack Point". Again starting in the $600,000s, this is a street scene of
homes in the 1600-2200 square foot range.
Another neighborhood which was built
around 1987 is "The Knolls". We used to have a building boom here in the late
1980s. These homes are easy to spot. You just need to look for the black
anodized aluminum windows and you will notice the homes of "The Knolls". Homes
here range from 1800-2200 square feet, and are priced from the high $600,000s.
Some new construction is going on in
the Calaveras Hills area. Some homes are on the verge of construction, but
there are completed neighborhoods and some 'resale' are available too. Homes in
this new section are 2400-3200 square feet, and sell in the $700s and $800s,
depending on size and views.
